Weaver of Words Poems on Loving Longing Learning Karen M Carlson Books
Karen Carlson’s first published poetry book, “Weaver of Words,” is divided into 3 sections: loving, longing and learning. Each section contains several deeply personal poems that Karen wrote over the course of many years. After reading each of the poems in the book a single theme stood out to me: the cycle of life. Many of Karen’s poems touch of on birth, the stages of life and then death. Karen seems to be particularly drawn to the beauty of birth and the idea that birth is not only about a mother giving birth to a child. It is about a lifetime of growing, changing and nurturing new ideas and new passions. One of my favorite poems is “Journeying.” I think it nicely sums up Karen’s perspective on life that it is a journey. During that journey we are constantly discovering. We never know it all and that is a good thing.Product details

Wonderful words that are filled with meaning, contemplation and emotion. Karen does a great job of capturing life's moments and weaving them into words that evoke thought and memories. A beautiful expression of life!
What a beautiful collection of poems that bring one deep into the author's soul, as well as your own. One sees a great love of family and trust in God in these verses. Thank you for sharing, Karen! Love from a number 1 fan, Brigitte
As soon as I received "Weaver of Words" I couldn't put it down. I will read it again very soon. I do hope this won't be Karen's last book, she truly has a gift for writing and a love for life. Donna Draganski
I'm not a big poetry person , but I have to say I am mesmerised by it. It really moved me and made me think about things in a much deeper way. It captured my heart than unlocked it at the same time. Weaver of words is my story.
Weaver of Words book of poetry is a reflective, tender collection of free verse poems. Written from a woman's point of view, many poems delve into the phases of life. It's deceptively simple style entices us to dig deeply and pause to reflect, as in the poem Folded Basket where she states, "As unfinished as I, the fold tells of my story..." A collection like this begs you to make a cup of tea, find a cozy corner, and quietly reflect.
I was honored to have had the opportunity to work with Karen as she was preparing this her first book of poetry. But I know that her work on this took a lifetime! Her collection of free verse poems are is genuine as she is in her care and compassion for others. I think mothers and caregivers will definitely resonate with Karen's work.
