Full Moon Fever The MonsterGrrls Book 2 eBook John Rose
I had read and reviewed Book One in the MosterGrrls trilogy when it was released a couple of years ago, and have been waiting for this second installment ever since. John Rose continues the story of four Monster Grrls (a vampire, a witch, a werewolf, and a creature) as they attend high school with non-monsters. This book features Harriet (the werewolf) as she prepares for a big basketball game, which just happens to coincide with a full moon. Both Harriet's monster and non-monster friends have to work together to deal with mean kids, and really mean monsters that are out to get them.I love the way that John Rose takes the classic story of teenage/high school angst and drama, and totally kicks it up several notches. He ties in all manner of monster lore from classic books and popular culture, and places it skillfully in the middle of a story of friendship and courage and fear. Just like before, I am particularly interested in the story of Stephanie, whose past and issues continue to play a part in what the Grrls are having to deal with. The story moves quickly and smartly, and has me waiting for the next book to see what happens.
Very entertaining read. And it just screams to be made into a big screen movie.

Full Moon Fever The MonsterGrrls Book 2 eBook John Rose Reviews
When’s the next one?
Although it is a book for adolescents, there is enough depth to entertain adults. It is remarkable for a male author to imagine female characters so well. the subtext--never preached explicitly--deals with acceptance, being different, unkindness and the other important issues of this difficult age. We are all monsters in our own ways, making our way in a world that wants to judge.
